Mukesh has had some problems logging in on his system and has asked me to post this for him.

" I have been very thrilled to read the very professional points of view that you both: Jeff and Rene , have been writing regarding CANNT 2002 and what our role as dialysis technologits really is.

I will bring up the matter of what we techs need at our next CANNT executive meeting.

Please read my recent article # 4 after Jeff manages to put in on the board.
Thanks.

The role of the nephrology technologist is detailed rather comprehensively in the nephrology standards of technical practice and can be found on the CANNT website: www.cannt.ca

What techs can and need do would depend on what the workplace allows, what the tech's enthusiasm entails as well as what demands are made of the techs.

I feel that Jeff, what you have written is entirely true. However, sometimes limitations and the nature of the tech's role is such that there may not be room for more technical and clinical involvement. Not many institutions are formal ' teaching ' ones and some are relatively small."

Thanks and regards
Mukesh Gajaria
