Than if other units out there require techs to preform patient care related duties. I assume it would be safe to say the dialysis tech background can vary beyond electronic/mechanical. All according to the needs of the dialysis unit.
My apologies for connecting this issue to other somewhat related topics but this does open up the discussion for other possible backgrounds in our field. That multiple disciplines helps to expand our duties, bring about discussion, and this idea should not be ruled out when the need arises to branch off into other options of health care service. Anyone care to disagree? Please do not hesitate. It would be interesting to hear of other specialized dialysis tech duties, and the benefits they bring to the facility.
Maybe this could be something that CANNT members would be eager to listen to rather than sexual advice given by the "sex lady." The dialysis tech position seems to be a bit of a wild card for dialysis units if the facility chooses to harness their potential.
Thank you Jeff you have answered my questions with patience and with completeness. This was very interesting.
